9th Braunschweig Superconductivity Seminar

March 22, 2017 (A389).  We announce the biannual 9th German National Seminar on superconductivity for power grid traditionally called the "Braunschweig Seminar".  It will be held on June 20th and 21st, 2017, at the "Haus der Kulturen Braunschweig e.V.” (Am Nordbahnhof 1, 38106 Braunschweig).  The information flyer (including the program) is accessible here.  Attendance is free, but registration is required at supraleiterseminar-elenia@tu-braunschweig.de, with a deadline of May 23rd, 2017.  Additional information can be obtained from Mr. Nicholas Hill, n.hill@tu-braunschweig.de.
This meeting is usually characterized by a vivid and frank exchange of opinions between the power utilities and proponents of the HTS superconducting components for the power grid.  Of the 12 oral presentations included in the 2017 program, only two are in English, one of these contributed by Sumitomo Cryogenics.  The German language program includes a report on the Ampacity Project experiences gathered during the three-year period of this intra-city superconducting cable operation in the power grid.
The SNF had 692 visitors in the month of May 2017,
and has had 139,282 visitors
since its inception on July 15, 2007.
