Korea Evaluates Two Large HTS Project Proposals

Korea Evaluates Two Large HTS Project Proposals

April 29, 2013 (HE70).  May7th will be an important day for the Korean high-temperature-superconductivity (HTS) Community.   On that day, two large HTS application-oriented projects proposals will be evaluated by national reviewers:

  1. An HTS wire development program.
  2. A program on wind turbine generators with rating higher than 5 MVA.

These proposals have been prepared over a period of over four months.  If approved they may start in June 2013.  The level of funding will be decided upon by the reviewers, but it is expected in will be similar to the level of the completed program.
We expect to report on the outcome of the evaluation soon after the pertinent decisions will be made public.

In Korea, May 7 is one of the most important days for Korean HTS society.
Two big projects(HTS wind and HTS wire) will be evaluated by national reviewers.
Almost for more than 4 months we have been being prepared 2 projects.
Since it is the final evaluation, if passing, 2 new big projects will start from this June.
The size of fund will be decided by reviewers, but as the proposal, it will be similar with DAPAS.
