In the view of this important event we present some aspects of the historical background, current status and future prospects of the Romanian science emphasizing superconductors’ research. Although the general conclusion is that today there is a relatively fast and positive development dynamics, some issues related to funding, organization, marketing and management of Romanian science are proposed for debate.
