FOREWORD
 
Preprints winning the SNF Contest for best ASC 2014 contributed papers have been selected for prepublication when rated “Excellent” by the SNF panel of experts.  These were included in Preview No. 1, now online.  The present Preview No. 2 includes “runners up” in the Contest, i.e., preprints which were rated “Very Good”. Also included is an invited slide presentation on hybrid energy transfer line.
