European Conference on Applied Superconductivity, EUCAS 2007, held in Brussels

October 1, 2007 (H4)  (Modified Nov. 10, 2007) The European Conference on Applied Superconductivity, EUCAS 2007, was held in Brussels, Belgium from September 16th to 20th, 2007, see http://eucas2007.org/

Nearly 800 researchers from academia and industry attended the meeting.  The attendance statistics can be viewed here. The usual mix of exciting plenary, invited talks, oral contributions and lively debated posters was punctuated by the attribution of the four ESAS awards consisting of 500 Euro, a free annual subscription to “Nature – Materials” and an invitation to submit the winning work for publication in the Special Conference Issue of Superconductor Science and Technology (SuST) published by the Institute of Physics (IOP), England.

to be held in Dresden, Germany.

All registered participants will receive a CD with all conference papers and the Conference Issue of SuST, which will contain the plenary and invited papers. Contributed papers (oral and poster) will be published in electronic form in a volume of the "Journal of Physics: Conference Series" (JPCS) after peer reviewing.  Pending IOP copyright agreement with the authors, PDF's of submitted presentations (slides) by the plenary and invited speakers will be made available for downloading from the ESAS website www.esas.org/

See www.eucas2009.eu for all the forthcoming conference information.  The EUCAS 2011 should commemorate the 100 Anniversary of Superconductivity discovered by Kammerlingh Onnes  in Leyden, the Netherlands.  Accordingly, this EUCAS meeting will be held in the Netherlands, most probably on September 18 to 23 at the World Forum Congress Center in Den Haag, close to the sea. It will be organized conjointly with ISEC (the International Superconducting Electronics Conference).
