Symposium on High-field Magnets for Fusion Held in China

May 3, 2013 (HE72).  The Symposium on “Advanced High Field Magnets and their Cryogenic Properties” was held on March 6 in Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (TIPC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China. This meeting was supported by the National Magnetic Confinement Fusion Science Program. In attendance were 36 experts from TIPC, ASIPP (Institute of Plasma Physics, CAS), IEE of CAS, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Western Superconducting Technologies Co., Ltd.  We like to mention here that Prof. Laifeng Li’s team at TIPC pioneered the development of fabrication technology of high-field superconducting coils aiming at the application in the future Demo fusion reactor in China.
