Pasquale Fabbricatore (Nocera Superiore, Italy, 1957) started his activity on applied superconductivity and magnet technology since 1981 when, as a student in Physics at the Università di Salerno, he worked on his thesis about Design and Construction of Small Scale Superconducting Magnets.

In 1982 he joined Ansaldo Energia (Genoa) in the R&D section. Among the activities he carried out were: Design and test of rotating coupling for liquid Helium (superconducting alternator project); Design, construction and test of 0.5 T whole body magnet for MRI; and Engineering design of the magnet for the ZEUS Detector at DESY. In 1987 he joined the Genoa Unit of the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics, (INFN), to develop superconducting devices for particle physics.

He is co-author of about 150 articles are in the field of magnets, cryogenics and superconductivity. He is also active in scientific spreading and teaching as a lecturer of Superconducting Magnets for Accelerators at the University of Genova. He supervised the thesis of many students and mentored several people now working in magnet technology. During his career, he contributed to applied superconductivity by both giving scientific/technological contributions (witnessed by his publications and by the projects he led) and pushing the development of magnet technology as a consultant of the INFN management and as a member of several Italian and international committees.
