Past President of the IEEE Reliability Society worldwide, he specializes in: Reliability Predictions, MTBF analysis of electrical and electro-mechanical systems; including FMEA's and Fault Trees. He has taught over 30 seminars on Thermal Analysis of Electronics and on Electrical and Mechanical Reliability. His most recent tutorials were: Thermal design of integrated circuits at Singapore University on October 19, 2001, and a Tutorial on Mechanical Reliability at Kyoto University on 30 May 2003. He recently (April 2002) wrote 90 pages for McGraw Hill's "Electronics Engineering Handbook" (The EE Bible). He develops test procedures, conducts Qualification tests and provides proposals for planning activities. Mr. Doyle's experience includes consulting on Digital TV Cable and Satellite units for TV/COM International. He is also involved in qualifying Nuclear Radiation Monitoring equipment for Sorrento Electronics, including software and hardware reliability studies. Other consulting tasks have included Safety Integrity Level and Hazard Analysis. In addition, he has performed Structural Analysis of antennas. He was Director of Region 6 (60,000 members) and is presently on the IEEE Board of Directors as a Technical Director. Mr. Doyle has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.
Mr. Doyle provides analytical and experimental insights into complex electrical and physical phenomena. He specializes in systems analysis with primary strength in Thermal analysis and Reliability studies. His work in these areas has broken new ground in advancing the state-of-the-art in electrical and mechanical systems for aircraft, missiles, nuclear power plants, and commercial electronics. He provides solid contributions to proposals and in planning and organizing activities.
Mr. Doyle graduated with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, in 1969. Previously he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University in 1963.
Mr. Doyle is a registered Electrical Engineer and a registered Civil Engineer with the State of California and the State of Arizona, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., where he was Director of Region 6 (60,000 members) and President of the Reliability Society (Worldwide). He is presently on the IEEE Board of Directors as a Technical Director. He was also a member of Sigma Tau and Pi Tau Sigma honorary societies.
