Abiola currently works as a Lead Magnet Design Engineer at GE Healthcare working on designing superconducting magnets for MRI systems. Prior to this, she worked as a graduate research assistant at the Applied Superconductivity Center under the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida, and earned her doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering at the Florida State University also in Tallahassee, Florida. Her PhD research was focused on micro and macro characterization of Bi-2212 Round Wires. Outside of work, she has volunteered with the DEI committee at ASC22 to organize off-cycle programming activities, and is passionate about mentoring underrepresented minorities to encourage them into STEM career pathways. In her free time, Abiola enjoys reading, running, biking, cooking, and watching trashy reality tv.
