Description

Hello and welcome to ISS2023, as the Chair of the organizing committee, I am delighted to have you all here in New Zealand for this 36th edition of the conference. This edition of ISS is particularly special as it marks the first time that the conference is being held outside of Japan. It is an exciting opportunity for all of us to explore new possibilities and perspectives in the field of superconductivity.

ISS focuses on the topics of Physics and Chemistry, Wires and Bulk, Electronic Devices, and Large Scale Applications of superconductivity. This year, we will be featuring the latest research and developments in these areas, providing a platform for discussions and collaborations among leading experts in the field.

Furthermore, the conference will provide an international perspective on the various topics related to superconductivity, and will serve as an opportunity for researchers from around the world to connect, share ideas and work together towards advancing the field.

I encourage all of you to actively participate in the discussions, and to take advantage of this opportunity to learn and grow your mastery of the subject. I also hope that you will enjoy the chance to meet new colleagues and to network with international researchers.

We are all here to contribute to the advancement of superconductivity technology, and I look forward to working together during this conference.

Prof. Nicholas Long
Chair, ISS2023
