Description

Welcome to the 10th International Workshop on Numerical Modelling of High Temperature Superconductors - HTS 2026!

The workshop, hosted by the University of Edinburgh, will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland from 15-18 June 2026:

  • 15-16 June: South Hall, John McIntyre Conference Centre, the University of Edinburgh
  • 17-18 June: Nucleus Building, King's Buildings, the University of Edinburgh

Numerical models are an indispensable research tool for the research areas linked to applied superconductivity, such as high-field superconducting magnets, superconducting utilities, superconducting transport systems, and medical devices. Modelling high temperature superconducting (HTS) topologies and applications is challenging due to many factors such as the non-linear voltage-current characteristics of HTS materials, convergence issues, and complicated HTS geometries.

Many researchers around the world specialising in physics, mathematics, and electrical engineering have been working on different modelling methods and strategies for HTS applications - this workshop will bring us together to discuss and update the most recent progress in the following aspects:

  1. Multiphysics Numerical Modelling
  2. Modelling Fundamentals
  3. Superconducting Applications
  4. Novel Modelling Methods/Strategies

We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh!

Workshop Chair: Dr Hongye Zhang

Co-chair: Prof Markus Mueller
