Dr. Spargo is a senior staff member of the Research & Technology organization within Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in Redondo Beach, CA.  His primary research interests are superconducting integrated circuit development and superconducting electronics for high-performance computing, signal processing, and communications. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley. He holds patents in the areas of packaging and spacecraft.  He is a Fellow of the IEEE, past Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, and past President of the IEEE Council on SuperConductivity (2007-2010).
